G'day there

Well in about four days I'm heading down to Tasmania for a ball (yay I know, my sisters university graduation) so my mum and I are making my dress as we speak.. I mean type

My art has decided to take a turn down Ol' Conceptual Lane. I'm more doing reference sheets and character designs than anything else at the moment. It sort of coincides with a change to my writing.

Well I'll have some new piccys up soon from my new sketch book (number three that I've filled), so until then

Right now I'm suffering from severe 'morning-after'. Want to know why?

Yesterday, at 8am sharp, a bus-full of textiles students headed down to the Myer Fashion Awards Australia, yours truely being one of them. I thought we had left a bit late and I was right because we had to get changed reeeeeeally quickly for the judging. So my hair, makeup and entry piece weren't right.

I didn't expect to come anything, because I was being judged against the whole of the secondary section for my category, and I can tell you now, its tough.

After we got our chance to parade down the catwalk at the dinner, we got to sit at our table and watch the professionals do it properly.
One thing that entertained us through all the models "freeze-frame slow" walks, was a fact circulated to us by our teacher (shame on her) that one of the models used to be a man.

We had good fun trying to figure which one.

Jacquie turned into Jack, and Kate transformed to Kevin. When it was time to leave, my table had compiled a list of questions that hopefully the managing staff could answer, which included such things as; the quality of the peeled carrots; and whether it was possible if a model could walk any faster if you chased her with a big scary mask.

Intelligent and deserving questions, I know.

I still have one more competition for my dress to go through but that's not until September.

I've been finding it hard to do some drawing lately. And it doesn't help that I'm still getting my head around my tablet and using photoshop. Its nearly a completely different style from drawing by hand for me.
I will get there.

I'm finalising competition details also.

p.s. What is with American's writing 'realise' with z's? I'm incline to know why.

How bout this new v6 eh? What do you guys think?

Long time no speak. I know I hardly ever put journals up so I thought this would be a nice change. My art is going swell despite the fact that I have to go back to school tomorrow for the hardest semester ever; semester TWO!
I vowed to myself that I would work hard in these ones and beat my last exam scores (which weren't too shabby might I add, all A's)

But because of school, my drawing might be hindered. My current WIP just resurfaced from under the mountain of papers on my desk so that will be resumed.

Also, I've noticed that I haven't actually done much in the way of SDL. Feel free to note me if you want to duel.

Well, homework awaits (sooo much! do the teachers think that their class is the only one I take!?) and there's plenty of better things to do than read my lame log. Just keeping you updated!
